To survive in a small town, you must appeal outside of your general area. O’Neills does that by arguably offering the best pizza in SE MN. They pair that with super friendly service and a quaint atmosphere. Definitely worth the drive!

We were really bummed when O'Niell's left Rochester, MN. Then, we drove past the O'Niell's in Elgin, MN. Could it be the same pizza? Would the Fab 5 be on the menu? YES and YES! SAME OWNERS AND EVERYTHING! Just keep in mind, they're open Tuesday thru Saturday. AWESOME PIZZA with cracker- thin crust. Other items on the menu, also. We just haven't got past the pizza. Other than the bar selections.

Excellent! We had the House Pizza, lotsa meat and cheese and that cracker thin crust really hit the spot! Really nice Irish vibe in the pub, charming bare brick walls, rich paint colors, booths with old church pews. The bar is center stage and the back bar is really attractive and well-stocked! Jukebox adds nostalgic ambiance; Brian the owner gave me a buck, and I played 10 great golden oldies songs! Wait staff is polite & prompt and the cook actually takes pride in his work and apologized for messing up the edge of the crust and made us an extra (small) pizza to make up for it! Reminds me of Cheers in Boston -- only better! Well done Mr. O'Neill!! We'll be back for sure! Added on 5/24/24: try the flourless chocolate tort, wowzah, so good. Rich n creamy like cheesecake and rich chocolate flavor. It's a small piece but SO RICH, we shared it and that was 'just right'. Folks in the booth next to us ordered the Whiskey Cake and muhwah! That looked good, too, especially the whiskey laced cream on the side, but we decided for chocolate. A friend had told us to 'try the margarita' so we did; holy macaroni, Batman, that was excellent with the pizza. Between the onion rings as apps (BIG n thick with a lovely crunchy finish), the house pizza (again this time!--it's so good!!), the marg, the cake, we were happy and full! Brought a deck of cards and played rummy

Great place for food and to grab a drink!

The atmosphere was friendly and inviting right away. Our server stopped to chat and made sure we were taken care of. All our food was delicious and came to the table pretty quickly. The rootbeer was especially good, it had more of a vanilla flavor to it which I'm sure goes well with their rootbeer floats. The whoopee cake was recommended to us and was delicious without leaving a heavy feeling that some chocolate deserts can bring. Everything was clean, and we left happy.

Visited O’Neills for the first time and we were really impressed! The pizza was outstanding and don’t get me started on the desserts. We had the bread pudding and the peanut butter pie, both were exceptional. So many pizza selections to choose from. Great service, fun environment. Definitely worth the short drive from Rochester!

Went here after hiking in Carley State Park based on a recommendation from a coworker, and the experience was great all around! The pub atmosphere and decor are well-done, cozy, and comfortable. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and attentive (Thanks, Brian!). And the food was delicious! Had the Greek salad, Fab Five pizza, double chocolate stout beer, and pumpkin bread pudding for dessert. It was the perfect food celebration after hiking all afternoon (and getting caught in a downpour!). Will definitely be back!

Missed this place when they left Rochester. Mad that we waited so long to drive to Elgin. It was just as we remembered....DELICIOUS. The staff are just as amazing as we remembered also. You feel like you've been a part of their lives for years the way they all treat you.
